Exposed to sailing for the first time at the age of eleven, when he joined the Marine Scouts in Stargard Szczeciński. His first yacht harbour – in Morzyczyn on Lake Miedwie – was owned by a Youth Culture Centre.

Sailor and seafarer for twenty years. Exposed to sailing for the first time at the age of five on the Koronowo Reservoir when taken for a short cruise by her older sister. Began her true sailing adventure as a teenage participant of a scouting marine summer camp at Funka on Lake Charzykowskie, where she completed her first courses and received her first certificates.

Began his sailing adventure as a scout in the mid-1970s. Member of the Pabianice Troops Group of the Polish Scouting and Guiding Organisation, under Zbigniew Napieracz, then Jarosław Szeller.

Sailing, water sports, and skiing professional and aficionado. Graduate of the Academy of Physical Education in Wrocław. Junior Sailing Instructor of the Polish Yachting Association, scuba diver (PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver), skiing instructor, summer and winter camp instructor, sports manager.

Professional sailor by background, graduate of the Gdynia Maritime University (1987). Sailing remains his true hobby. Began sailing as a marine scouting troop member in 1977. Participant of numerous scouting sailing summer camps on Lake Jeziorak.

Professional officer and university teacher; since 1990, staff member of the Naval Academy, where his duties include the sailing instruction of students. An instructor of the integrated STCW (International Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping) course, he runs marine search and rescue classes.

Marine biologist specialising in polar regions. Sailor, Dive Master PADI


Professor at the Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Scientific associate of the Natural History Museum in London. Expert in marine ecology attempting at determining the environmental impact (e.g. of temperature) on polar marine organisms.

His fascination with marine voyages began with Miniatury Morskie (Marine Miniatures), a once well-known publishing series. Thanks to these books – small in size, rich in content – he was part of many a marine adventure, circumnavigating the globe with Leonid Teliga, fighting in battles at sea, sharing the joys and troubles of sailors and mariners.
